Our Story
Gena tells the story of an afternoon in 2012, where she attended an event in a large auditorium and heard a volunteer tell her story of coming out to her conservative Christian family.
"I left changed. Not because it was new story, necessarily. I'd heard the same story dozens of times. But this time was different."
The Human Empathy Project was born. It began with monthly dinner conversations, then folks began reaching out to talk.
Since 2013, the Human Empathy Project has been providing free, confidential consultation to pastors, leadership teams, and congregations facilitating conversation between community members with different views. Use the form below to ask a question or tell us how we can serve you.
